Boat to Koh Samui & Day 1 Koh Samui

Bridge:  We had a late morning – had some breaky, packed the sacks then took a taxi to Thong Sala Port at 11am.  We checked in at the Songerm ticket booth and waited over an hour before our boat finally arrived.  It definitely wasn’t was smart as the Lamphraya catamaran, but it still had aircon.  The trip took just under and hour and we docked a the Na Thon port on the west coast of Samui.  A mini-bus was parked on the pier waiting and we hopped in along with 5 Americans, 1 Dutch loner and a couple who didn’t speak English or Thai, and quite honestly looked as though they’d just realised they weren’t supposed to get off on Koh Samui, but were rather on their way to Surat Thani – or supposed to be anyway.
We went around the entire perimeter of the island dropping people off at their various bungalows along the way before the driver made the final stop at our “...very-nice-on-the-website...” Green Villa.  It was a notch below all our previous bungalows, but as the day and night progressed and after realising we couldn’t afford a bottle of water, let alone a bungalow on Chaweng Beach, we decided our place wasn’t too bad after all.  The little pool was sparkling blue and the garden well kept, but the bar/restaurant was a bit shabby and so were the prices!
