Koh Samui Day 2 & 3

We hopped on our scooter soon after breaky and headed for the Na Mauang Falls.  Na Mauang 1 was a stunning sight of water cascading down a 18m sheer cliff inot rocky pools and rivers.  Na Mauang 2 on the other hand was a 80m high gradual rocky slope with tonnes of water gushing over – we would probably have been more impressed if it hadn’t been for the 40 minute foot-slogging uphill to get there!  At the bottom, back near the car park, i paid BHT200 to hold a baby Bengal Tiger.  It made me very teary.  These poor cats were kept in cramped steel cages just so tourists could do what I did – feed it human baby formula from a bottle whilst having my photo taken – it broke my heart.

We set off to find cheap joint tickets from here in Lami on Koh Samui all the way to Koh Phi Phi on the Andaman coast (west coast).  Travel Agents are sprawled all over the town – often 10 shops within a few feet of eachother so it wasn’t difficult to ‘shop around’ for the cheaper tickets.  We settled for BHT700 (£12 each) which included pick-up from our guest house, a transfer to Na Thon pier, ferry to Don Sak, minibus from Don Sak to Krabi, and a ferry from Krabi to Koh Phi Phi.  All in all, not bad for a 10 hour journey!
We spend most of the day fanning and swimming and did a nice walk along the beach.
